COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR

*full time position | This particular role is located in Calgary, AB

As one of Calgary’s leading communications and public relations agencies, we are looking for an exceptional Communications Coordinator to join our team.

In this role, you support the execution of a multitude of digital and traditional marketing and public relations campaigns. You have an internal drive to deliver high-quality work and complete projects in a timely fashion. You are well organized and excel at keeping track of all ongoing activity for internal and client purposes. You work tirelessly to create and write engaging content for consumers and media purposes. You manage assignments efficiently and effectively, and have an exceptional ability to deliver best-in-class work.

responsibilities:

  • Liaise with Account Directors on a daily basis with confidence and efficacy

  • Have an ongoing and strong understanding of the client’s business needs and our role

  • Support the execution of frequent social and PR campaigns from start to finish including outreach, execution, tracking, and reporting

  • Write monthly content for multiple clients including content packages, blogs and e-newsletters

  • Publish monthly content for multiple clients and assist with digital campaign optimization, tracking, and reporting

  • Support Account Directors in the creation and distribution of media materials, PR plans, work back schedules and facilitate targeted pitches to traditional and non-traditional media

  • Assist Account Directors in drafting client proposals, strategic plans by conducting research as required 

  • Communicate ideas passionately and effectively internally amongst the account and design teams

  • Manage and stay on top of updating media and influencer database

  • Act with a sense of urgency and authority to facilitate quick, thoughtful decisions with short lead times

  • Coordinate logistics for client events with media and influencers as required

  • Assist team in staying on-top of emerging trends and innovative new media strategies

  • Bring fresh, new, marketing and PR campaign ideas to the table for team brainstorming

qualifications:

  • 1 to 2 years of PR and media relations experience in a marketing, public relations or communications role

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field

  • MS Office proficiency (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

  • Experience working with web, social media monitoring and publishing tools (Hootsuite, Facebook Business Manager, Wordpress, Planoly, Sprout Social etc.)

  • Passion for retail, hospitality, tourism and lifestyle brands

  • Experience helping manage projects in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
